Review: Citadines Hotel, South Kensington

So a few weeks ago I was invited to the MAD Blog Awards ceremony in South Kensington, London. This was where we were doing the 'secret bloggy thing' I had told you about - basically a flash mob dance in the middle of the award ceremony, in front of everyone and the brilliant host Dr. Ranj. As you know, we had a great time, and our stay at the plush Citadines Hotel made our stay even better.

The Citadines in South Kensington is a plush and beautiful hotel. A stone's throw from Gloucester Road and set in perfect surroundings, this hotel made our stay in London just perfect.

We arrived a little bit early, but the staff were very helpful in storing our bags until the room was ready. Me, Colette and Danni were staying in an apartment - and what an apartment it was.

The living room area was beautifully decorated with a large sofa bed. and separate little kitchen. The kitchen was equipped with fridge/freezer, kettle and cooking utensils - really great if you wanted to stay in and cook for yourself!

We were impressed by the size of the room. Not only did we have the living area and kitchen on the 'ground floor' - there was also an upstairs! The upstairs led to a sparkly-white bathroom and large double bedroom with plenty of storage space and dressing table. It was perfect.

We loved the fact that there was absolutely no noise from outside (or inside) the hotel. It really did feel like you were in your own private apartment. The beds were really comfy. Sometimes I have trouble sleeping when I am away from home, but I had no trouble this night. The black-out curtains were brilliant - absolutely no disturbance to our sleep at all.

If I was nit-picking I would mention that the freezer wasn't turned on when we got in, and because we were short on time to get to the MADS we didn't get chance to freeze the cocktails I had brought along. However, me being me, I had brought a bottle of Prosecco and that chilled nicely for 20 minutes in the fridge before being good to glug!

I would definitely love to stay the a Citadines Hotel again. We had a great night's sleep and the room was fantastic - a lovely little slice of luxury!

We were invited to stay at Citadines free of charge for the purpose of this review, all words and views are my own.

  1. This hotel looks awesome! I love that it's like an apartment, having your own kitchen looks like such a luxury x

  2. This looks like it would be right up my street - planning to a trio to London next year so might consider this xx
