Review: Aldi's New Running Gear Range

I have a gym membership and although I am not as active as I would like to be, I do try to keep up going and to try to get outside more at night, although the cold does put me off!
Aldi are launching a new running range this coming Thursday, and they sent me some samples to review just in time, so here is what I thought.

We were sent the following items:

* Running shoes

* Coolmax Gel Insoles

* Running Neck Warmer

* Running Gloves

* Trainer Socks

Running Shoes

First of all, they look great - they are a silver/dark grey/fuchsia colour, laced up, with a reflective pattern. Comfort-wise, again - great. They are have a breathable textile-mesh so your feet feel quite free. Inside there is a textile lining and padded collar - no rubbing or chafing - completely comfortable. The shoes also offer a support element on the outer sole for better stability.

I have never had running shoes before. Although I do use speed-walking and light jogging as my cardio exercise both in the gym and outdoors, I probably have never been wearing the right type of shoes. I usually wear just normal trainers - these Aldi running shoes honestly wipe the floor with mine - I will definitely be using these ones in the future - I really can't believe I have never had real running shoes before, and at £19.99 these are a great bargain.

Coolmax Gel Insoles

These gel insoles are designed to mould to the shape of your feet when running and to support the stability of your foot. This in turn relieves ligaments and joints. They come in different sizes and you just pop them inside your shoe.
I must say that they made my exercising a lot more cushioned. My feet were snug in the shoes and complimented by the insoles. I don't know whether they relieved the pressure on my joints as that is not a complaint that I generally have, but time will tell with that I suppose!

Running Neck Warmer

This neck-warmer is designed to protect you from the elements when running in the winter. What I love about it is that it is multi-functional. Being the trooper that I am, I have modelled some of the different ways you can use this! It is very versatile and stretchy so you can wear it lots of different ways, I suppose it depends how chilly it is.

Running Gloves

These running gloves contain lycra and are a breathable stretch fabric. They are lightweight and really comfortable whilst keeping your hands warm at the same time. What I love about these is the X-static border on the forefinger - this is great for touchscreens, especially if you are using an app like Runkeeper or whatever - you can stay warm while you access your app at the same time.

Trainer Socks

These socks have a cushioned sole and support in the arch of the sock to support you while you train. They felt great on - my feet felt really supported. These came in different colours too.

These products are great. Not only do they look and feel good - the price is definitely affordable. I am hoping that with my new-found love of sports-gear I will be inspired to get up and out - go for a jog, get to the gym and just get healthier. I did start the Couch 2 5k programme on the NHS website a bit back, but could never get into a proper routine with it. I hoping that now I have a bit more time on my hands from dropping some working hours, and the fact that I feel like I now have the correct gear - I will get my own behind IN gear and try and get fitter, and definitely healthier! If you want to pick these up best get to Aldi quick because they are a Specialbuy, they only available while stocks last -  once they're gone, they're gone!

We were sent these products free of charge for the purpose of the review, all words and views are my own.
