Back in 2010, me, Warren and Emily (this was before we had a house-full of crazy babies) decided to go on a little holiday. We were in the process of moving from my old house in Manchester to our new house in Liverpool, so we wanted a little holiday just to see us through the stress of it.
We eventually settled on a mini-cruise to Amsterdam. It was fantastic, I would recommend it to anyone.
We set off from Newcastle on the Friday evening.
It was an overnight crossing to Amsterdam. The ship had fantastic entertainment on board, and we won the music quiz on the way there and on the way back!
Once in Amsterdam in the morning, we went for something to eat and set about exploring the fantastic city. We had Emily with us and so we spent time walking and taking in the scenery. We also visited the Anne Frank Museum and went out for dinner. Because it was a mini cruise we only spent the day in Amsterdam. The ship departed back to Newcastle at 5pm for another overnight sailing.
Time has flown over since then. Emily was so young when we last went. we tried to explain the Anne Frank story to her, but maybe she was a little too young to understand it fully.
We would really like to do this cruise again. I think with it being just a short one it would be good to take the little babies as well. Amsterdam is such a beautiful city. We're keeping our eyes peeled for Fred Olsen cruise offers, hopefully for next year.
