The Sweet Shop: Blogger's Event & Exclusive Online Discount Code

Me and Emily were really excited to be invited to a blogger morning at The Sweet Shop in the Trafford Centre, Manchester. This was to showcase their products and publicise their online delivery service - as well as providing me with an online discount code for me to share with you!  A number of other businesses in the Centre had also collaborated to provide for the event and to give us a taster of what they had to offer.

First of all we were treated to a yummy breakfast courtesy of Carluccio's, which is an Italian eaterie. We were served danish pastries and a selection of sweet treats and donuts, along with fresh orange and apple juice - just what the doctor ordered for an early Saturday morning! Both Em and I enjoyed our pastries in the colourful setting of The Sweet Shop!

Weren't we spoilt!
We were then treated to smoothies from Boost. It was a delicious berry flavoured smoothie, me and Em loved these.

Once we were suitably refreshed we then looked around The Sweet Shop itself. Man oh man, it is a sweet-lover's DREAM in there. I do have a bit of a sweet tooth at times, and Emily loves sweets. I really like treating her to sweets - as long as she keeps up with her teeth-brushing, of course!

The Sweet Shop has been running to two years now. It started at a stall in the Great Hall in the Trafford Centre and then thy opened their shop in March.. They also have kiosks at McArthur Glenn and Cheshire Oaks. They are also in partnership with Event City and supply Pop up Sweet Shops for parties - which I think is a great idea!

The shop itself has LOADS of sweets to choose from. Emily was literally a kid in a sweet shop! We had a good look at the sweets - the displays are amazing, so colourful and some of the sweets really take me back.

The Sweet Shop aim to cater for everyone, so they also have sugar-free, gluten-free and dairy-free  sweets available.

Quite appropriate that I stood near the 'Nerds' for a photo. Completely unawares. Is this a #MumFail?
It wasn't long until we were treated yet again - this time it was cupcakes from Zara Cakes.

We had all come to the Trafford Centre together although it was just me and Emily attending the event. So I saved a cupcake for Alice, I would hate to leave her out, and as you can see it got her seal of approval.

After cupcakes, the lovely ladies from Lush were on hand - literally offering hand massages. Emily was keen to do this so she sat for ten minutes having a lovely hand massage with a lavender oil.

We were also treated to some goodies from them, including their limited edition Rose Jam shower gel - this smells absolutely divine, can't wait to try this sample!

We then continued to explore the Sweet Shop. Our favourite section was the Sweet Jar Station. Basically, you fill a jar with sweets, and take it to the till to pay - sweets in jar. I really loved this idea as you also have a retro-jar there to keep or re-fill with more sweets. I thought these would make a great stocking-filler for Christmas.

The event was also attended by Win Naturally, which is a food and supplement store in the Trafford Centre - all of their products are 100% organic and are tried and tested by the owner's family. They provided us with a huge goody bag full of yummy organic goodies.

This was great. I do love to see my kids enjoying sweet treats, but it is also important for them to eat a wide variety of healthy foods like the peanut and oat wholefood bar and nuts and seeds. It's really important to me that my kids have a wide and varied diet - including healthy wholesome food and sweet treats!

We also got a chance to speak to the lovely ladies from The Perfume Shop, and they also provided us with a goody bag full of perfume samples.

Including aftershave ones as well!
Regis also supported the event, as did Shu Uemura, who are a cosmetic company based in Selfridges. I was given an invite to have a brow make over, which I accepted, of course!

A lovely lady called Michelle trimmed, shaped and styled my eyebrows. It took just 15 minutes, and I was really pleased with the result!

We were also given a goody bag filled with lots of beauty samples and a small bottle of their award-winning cleansing oil.

I'm not a beauty blogger, as you know. But you know what - it was great to be treated! Being a working mum, at University and often knee-deep in nappies means that I rarely get time to treat myself. So today I took full advantage!

We were also treated by The Sweet Shop to a bag of sweets - of course!
Yum Yum!

We has a great morning and met some lovely bloggers as well. What I really loved about The Sweet Shop is that there was care in everything that they provided for us today in hosting this fabulous morning. This is also true of their shops - you can see it in the displays, in the products themselves and in the enthusiasm of the staff - they couldn't do enough for us.

Disclosure: We were invited to this promotional event by The Sweet Shop. We were given complimentary samples and products so that we could report back about their products and services.

  1. Wow I love the look of this shop. I really wanted to go to this event but there is no way I could have got there for 8am! (well I could if i'd left home at 5.30am, but not even for sweets!)
