Review: Zappie Children's App

ZappieLogo.jpgWe recently got the opportunity to review a brand new children's app by Zappie. The app is a new interactive application for youngsters that aims to bring pictures to life.

We were sent some wall stickers to put on Alice's wall. The stickers included fun characters like the little teapot out of the nursery rhyme I'm a Little Tea Pot and the star from Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. There are lots to choose from.

The idea is that you download the app to your device, you then click the song that you would like to play. You hold the device in front of the picture on the wall and 'zap' it and then the relevant song begins on your device. The stickers are great for the kids and the nursery rhymes are fun and engaging. Alice really enjoys this type of thing - I think babies are born with mobile phones in their hands nowadays or as near as!

The stickers were easy enough to apply. We chose to put these on the wall, but they could also be applied to the doors, wardrobes or mirrors. The rhymes that are available include:

I'm a Little Teapot
Five Little Ducks
Row, Row,Row Your Boat
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
Old MacDonald Had a Farm

The app can also be used without the Zappie products - the videos are available to view from the app itself by clicking on one of the butterflies.

Alice enjoyed the songs - she loves nursery rhymes and was singing along to them.

I think the app is a great idea. It's really fresh and new. The only downside I found was that the app was a bit temperamental for us - but that could easily be down to my device, I have that many photos and things stored on it that it could have been down to that.

Disclosure: We were given the Zappie products in exchange for the review. All views and opinions are my own.
